Catherine founds Catherine Avery Investment Management, LLC.
February 2006
Catherine becomes core member of small independent investment management firm, based in Greenwich, Connecticut.
January 2004
Catherine joins Merrill Lynch Investment Management to manage portfolios of $1 million and above for private investors, small institutions and endowments.
March 1995
Catherine joins Dean Witter Intercapital as a portfolio manager for high-net-worth investors, small pension plans and endowments. Strategies employed included value, growth, international and global.
- February 1997: Dean Witter merges with Morgan Stanley
- June 1997: Catherine is named as co-manager of the Morgan Stanley Natural Resources Trust.
- August 1999: Catherine moves on to become Portfolio Manager of the Morgan Stanley Income Builder Funds, with over $500 million of assets under management.
- December 2001: In addition to managing the Morgan Stanley Income Builder Funds, Catherine is given responsibility to manage other mutual funds, Balanced Income and Balanced Growth.
- August 2002: Catherine becomes a member of the Van Kampen Equity Income Team; she is one of four portfolio managers with responsibility for over $14 billion of assets.

Catherine joins Prudential Securities Investment Management as a Portfolio Manager, working exclusively with private investors.
October 1985
Catherine joins EF Hutton as an Assistant Portfolio Manager.
- January 1987: Catherine is promoted to Junior Portfolio Manager, with responsibility for accounts for private and small institutional investors, using value and/or growth strategies.
- January 1988: Catherine was promoted to Portfolio Manager.
January 1982
Catherine worked part-time for the Oppenheimer Funds while she earned her degree in Finance from New York University, Stern School of Business. Her work experience and training embraced a number of different departments including portfolio management, client service, marketing, and working with the national sales manager.
